Title: Help me understand how Tor hidden services keeps everyone safe.
Post by: clarencegibbons on July 30, 2013, 02:03 am
Not a computer genius here by any stretch. Just trying to figure out how sites such as SR as able to stay anonymous, therefore protecting users (Both buyers/vendors).

In theory, could SR be hosted on a server of the DEA by a rogue janitor? I mean the server could be hosted anywhere right? How is the location able to stay anonymous?

Anyone that could break this down in laymans terms, it'd be greatly appreciated.

Want to order badly, but don't want to step on my dick in the process.   Thanks guys!

Edit: Nice diagram here (note that each of the green 'tor circuit' arrow-lines consists of 3 relay hops)
